Email spam. Sometimes we feel resentful to the
incoming email in a barrage and not clear the origin of the email. Whereas
before we did not notify our email to the sender of the email. If this happens
then your email has been exposed to spam. These spam can sometimes pass the
filter app and go into your email inbox. If the spam enters your inbox
continuously, you can block it through cPanel. Here is a tutorial how to block
spam email through cPanel. Let's discuss it together.
What needs to be needed?
Before we start the steps there are
two things we must have. What is that ?
- · Have a Cpanel account
- · Have an email that has been created in the CPanel.
Okey until here I assume you
already have a Cpanel account and have an email that has been created in
CPanel. Let's continue the next step.
Step 1: Go to the Apache
SpamAssassin Menu
First of all, you need to login to
cPanel. Please open the Apache SpamAssassin menu in the Email field, as seen in
the image below.
Click the Configure Apache
SpamAssassin button.
Step 2: How To Block Spam Emails
Once on the Apache SpamAssassin
configuration page, you will see some ways of blocking spam emails. To be more
clear, please see the picture below.
• You can block certain emails, for
example email@exampleA.com. This way all emails sent from email@exampleA.com
will be blocked while messages other than those emails will remain inbox.
• You can also block all incoming
emails from certain domain names. In this example, all emails with the suffix @
exampleB.com will be blocked.
After you enter the email you want
to block, please click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
If you have entered the correct
formatted email address, you will see the confirmation message succeeded as in
the image below.
Conclusion
Done. The
email blocking setting is complete. From now on you will be free from spam
emails that interfere. We need to know also if spam email is not immediately
handled then the spam email account will be affected by blocking so that email
account can not be used again. Hopefully this article can help you in handling
spam email. Oh yes if you get spam from different email accounts or domain
names, you can also increase the value in the required_score field. But for
this article I use its only dafault 5. Because the higher the number entered it
will be more stringent filtering it. The impact is the other emails that will
come in filtered too, of course, because the addition of a larger value will
increase the chances of 'misread', the actual email is valid but considered
spam. So I suggest you to fill in the default number of 5. Now you have learned
how to block spam email via cPanel using Apache SpamAssassin feature. With this
feature, you can block messages from certain email addresses, or all emails
from a specific domain.
